Coal Fire Power Plant Outage Project – Typical 18 month shut-down & Startup Boiler Outage, removal/replace 1500 super heat tubes in conjunction turbine tear down/rebuild of bearing replacement including 755+ work orders relating to capital/maintenance projects – AEP

∙ Scheduled & Baseline a 65 day power plant outage within 1 month time period; which developed into a dual outage.  Developed template shut-down/startup schedule, 65 day outage baseline schedule plus emergent work schedules for unit 1, assembled 2nd maintenance outage schedule for unit 2, burn down man-hour curves for multiple disciple & organizations, SPI, various percent complete, critical path, multiple secondary critical float paths, work break down structure, milestones, schedule analysis regarding health, custom daily reports, establish updating meetings and various look-ahead schedules on daily basis. Project had additional scope due to discovery, but the baseline Critical Path finish 1 week ahead of schedule. Team members consist of operations, plant, maintenance contractors, outside contractors, and regional in house personnel. This was the 1 of 2 regional outage of AEP that finished within the time frame in 2015, without first aid or recordable for primary critical path work.

Hiland Partners (Integrated Consulting Group) – Project

ü      Contract Owner Rep. Project Planner/Scheduler... Oil & Gas Transfer Projects (mid-stream) - consisting of: Gas Plant, Gas Plant Expansion, Gas Compressor Station, Booster Stations, Injection Stations, Pre-fab Buildings, Pipelines, Tanks, and Tie-ins (ranging from $800K to $70M) for Hiland Partners

∙ Consulted and implemented project control scheduling methods. Applied gate system scheduling mythology with steps for small maintenance type projects and develop detailed engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activity schedules for larger capital scale projects. Maintained plus or minus 15 projects, both in schedule and in physical percent complete. Held planning meetings, established baseline, CPM, developed weekly and overall variance reports. Built early, late, targeted, and actual percent complete graphs for disciplines and overall progress. Graphs also include weekly burn down percentage.  Provided monitoring and analysis to PMs and other supporting groups.  Basic and custom reports were developed, based on viewer preference. ∙ Refinery Project consisted Crude Distillation (towers & heaters), Distillate Hydrotreater (DHT reactor) Amine Regeneration, Sulphur Recovery, Hydrogen Generation, Naphtha Stabilizer, Sour Water Stripper, Utilities, ISBL, OSBL, Flare, control/lab/maintenance/utility/administration building, load/unloading area, LACT, power distribution/substation, PDCs, pipe racks, tanks, 10 miles of offsite Industrial water, 5 miles of offsite sanitary sewer, offsite lift station, offsite potable water, and combine projects with True Oil and Bakken Oil Express.

∙ Re-establish WBS, relationships, importing multiple engineering and construction schedules, built and maintained procurement schedule, re-built construction schedule to a level 4 schedule, built pre-commissioning schedule, established Critical Paths, re-baseline, developed weekly and overall variance reports, assigned resources, built various graphs, and monitoring of progress.  Held review meetings and worked with individuals to improve resource allocation and time.  Advise director of potential trouble areas through analysis and weekly reports.  Weekly reports were custom created to fit the needs of the project.

Built one page plan for each region in construction in conjunction with engineer completion dates to simplified overall projects for PM & construction supervisors. ∙ Establish remaining level 3 schedule, baseline, level 2 network diagrams, resources, graphs, cost tracking techniques, and monitoring of progress.  Held review meetings.  Cost projection for the year was less than 1.5% which consisted of 37% of department’s budget (overall cost projection for the department was 7%).  Designed and established special reports for myself which colleagues and managers began implementing into job manual.

ü      Satellite Contract Project Scheduling Manager... Howard M. Down Generating Station Power Plant Project (Unit 11) - 14 month duration (Hard Bid; $23M) for Vineland Municipal Utilities, NJ.

∙ Project electrical output of 64 MW Simple Cycle consisting of; 1 Rolls Royse Trent 60 combustion gas turbine generators (CTGs) equipped with a selective catalytic reduction system.

∙ Establish base-line schedule, critical path(s) analysis, variance reports, trend reports, maintained progress updates, and analysis.  Project is ongoing at this time and takes up 1-2 hrs. a week with an occasional job visits.

ü      Satellite Contract Project Proposal Scheduler... Power Plant Projects – 12-36 month durations (Hard Bid & EPC; $22-$200M)

∙ Establish Proposal schedules, resource loading, material quantity loading, created quantity graphs, man power graphs, critical path(s) analysis, & quantity take-offs. Perform upon request by Barton Malow Company.

∙ Project electrical output of 200 MW consisting of; four General Electric (GE) LM6000PC Sprint Systems combustion gas turbine generators (CTGs) equipped with a selective catalytic reduction system.

∙ Rebuilt schedule, establish base-line schedule, critical paths, variance reports, maintained progress updates, and                                                                analysis through construction, pre-commission, and into start stages.  Project initially was 3 1/2 months late with 5 months remaining when I joined the team. Together we diminished 3 1/2 months to 1/2 month during the 5 month period.

Gemma Power Systems LLC – Project

ü      Project Controls/Scheduling Manager... Colusa Generating Station (CGS) Power Plant Project - 24 month duration (EPC; $316M) for PG&E

∙ Project electrical output of 660 MW consisting of; two General Electric (GE) Power Systems Frame 7FA combustion gas turbine generators (CTGs) equipped with dry low NOx combustors designed for natural gas, two multi-pressure heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with duct burners and a selective catalytic reduction system (to be used with aqueous ammonia), one steam turbine-generator (STG) system with multi-cell air cooled condenser: and associated auxiliary system and equipment (i.e., lubrication oil system including oil coolers and filters, and generator coolers), a 1000 kW standby diesel generator for extended utility outages during maintenance and shutdowns.  The project employ

a zero-liquid discharge system where the water from the combustion turbine generator's evaporative coolers is recovered for reuse in the plant and the remaining salts are concentrated for disposal off site.

∙ Re-establish and improve project control mechanism, schedule, and client relations during pinnacle point of the project.

Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation – Projects

ü      Contracted Scheduler/Project Controls... Campbell Unit 2 SCR Project - 34 month duration (EPC) for Consumer Energy Company

∙ A past shelf project with structural steel onsite. Coordinated and developed remaining engineering/procurement schedule while working on other proposal schedules and four other projects.  Daily activities consisted of imputing change order activities, cost codes, resource creation/update, graphs, man loading, earned values, logs, graphs, reports, meetings, and various analyses. Establish base-line schedule with engineering department, subcontractors, construction, and other entities.

ü      Contracted Proposal Scheduler… East Kentucky SCR Unit 3 Project – 20 month duration (Hard Bid)
